Genie Lamp Website Redesign

Genie Lamp is a web platform which gives The Department of Health-Hawaii the flexibility to send and retrieve contracts through a pipeline of various departments for approval.

With the oversight of my Design Manager and PM, I had the opportunity to lead the redesign of this project from November 2021-January 2022 from UX research to final hi-fidelity designs.

User Research

The Department of Health - Hawaii’s original contract system was built in Sharepoint, but found that it was limited in capabilities and features they wanted to incorporate. The search functionality was broken, there were functions that were unnecessary, and overall was difficult to navigate the system.

We conducted a series of 15 interviews ranging from Admin’s to program leads to develop a better understanding of expectations and current pain-points in their day to day workflow.

User Flow

After our user interviews we discovered our user flow which gave us a clear understanding of the channels that contracts get pushed through. This also gave us an understanding on which pages we would need to re-design.

Experience goals

Based on the user research we conducted, one of the most significant challenges users expressed was the ability to navigate and search through their contracts on the dashboard while efficiently filtering information. To enhance the user experience, we introduced filters for streamlined access to information and revamped the search bar for improved functionality.
